At FicaGo ("we," "our," or "us"), we value your privacy and we are committed to safeguarding your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information.

This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our web app, mobile applications, products, or services (collectively, "Services").

By using our Services, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Personal Information

We may collect personal information that you provide directly to us, including but not limited to:

If you choose to enable optional product analytics in a FicaGo mobile app, we collect limited information about how the app is used through PostHog, such as:

  • Technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, and network-derived IP address
  • Usage data (e.g., pages visited, features used, search queries, and app interaction events)

Product analytics are disabled unless you allow them in the app. You may change this choice from the app's Legal settings. FicaGo does not use this analytics data for advertising and does not track your activity across other companies' apps or websites.

2.3 Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience on our website and gather information about your interactions with our Services. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings.

2.4 Vendor Verification Information

Vendors may provide a selfie, identification type and number, gender, tax identification number, registered business name, registration type, RC number, and CAC certificate. We use this information to verify marketplace participants, prevent fraud, review business eligibility, respond to safety concerns, and comply with applicable legal obligations. Authorized FicaGo review and support personnel may access this information only for those purposes. Verification files are stored with our contracted file-hosting and infrastructure providers and are deleted when the vendor account is deleted unless retention is required by law or for an unresolved fraud, safety, payment, or legal dispute.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information for various purposes, including:

  • Providing, maintaining, and improving our Services
  • Processing transactions and sending transaction notifications
  • Responding to your requests, comments, or questions

Customers and vendors can request account deletion directly within the relevant mobile app. When an account is deleted, we delete the account and associated profile, service, order, chat, notification, device-token, and uploaded-file records, except where limited information must be retained to meet legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution obligations.

6. Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of data transmission over the internet or electronic storage is entirely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us, and we will take steps to remove the information.

8. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our data practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the revised Privacy Policy on our website and updating the "Effective Date."

9. Location Services

Location access is optional. The mobile apps request location permission only after you choose a location-based action, such as using your current location while entering an address. You can instead type an address manually and may change location permission at any time in your device settings.

When you choose to share a location, we use it to populate an address, display relevant order information, or support nearby service functionality. We do not collect nearby Wi-Fi network names, Wi-Fi MAC addresses, or background location.

10. Communication

The FicaGo Platform allows you to contact us and other users via in-app chat and email after a service has been requested or booked, to facilitate the provision and completion of Services. Where you use these communication features, FicaGo may record and store communications exchanged through the Platform for safety, monitoring, quality assurance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and analytical purposes aimed at improving our services, customer support, policies, and procedures.

By using the communication features on the FicaGo Platform, you consent to FicaGo recording, storing, and using such communications in accordance with this Privacy Notice. This provision will also apply if voice calls or other communication methods are introduced on the Platform in the future.

11. Notification of Changes to Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy will be reviewed annually to ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations in all jurisdictions where the Services are provided, including but not limited to the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA), 2023. Nonetheless, we are continually improving our methods of communication and adding new functionalities and features to our website and existing services. Because of these ongoing changes, changes in the law and the changing nature of technology, our data protection practices will change from time to time. If and when our data protection practices change, we will update this Policy to describe our new practices and publish them on our website and applications.

12. Payment Information

Where payments are required for services on the FicaGo Platform, payment transactions are processed securely by third-party payment service providers. FicaGo does not store or process full debit or credit card details on its systems.

We may receive limited information related to payment transactions, such as payment status, transaction references, and timestamps, for the purposes of order confirmation, record-keeping, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and customer support. All payment information is handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws and the security standards of our payment partners.

13. Disclaimer

FicaGo has no prior relationship with, and does not act as an agent, partner, or representative of, the service providers (vendors/artisans) whose services are listed on the FicaGo Platform. FicaGo operates solely as a technology platform that connects customers with independent service providers for the purpose of requesting and delivering services.

FicaGo does not provide the services listed on the Platform and is not responsible for the acts, omissions, representations, warranties, or conduct of any service provider. Any representations made by a service provider regarding their services, qualifications, availability, pricing, or suitability are made solely by that service provider. FicaGo does not guarantee that such representations will be accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose.

14. Governing Law

This Notice shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Where any provision of this Notice is found to be inconsistent with any applicable law, regulation, or convention, such provision shall be deemed modified to the extent necessary to comply with the overriding law, regulation, or convention.

This Notice applies to all users of the services provided by FicaGo, as well as to any individual who contacts FicaGo or otherwise submits information to FicaGo through any means.
